I would like to be educated about these...can anyone say what they were before alteration?

On the first one the 1 before the 4 looks longer than the first 1.

On the second one - it looks like the number before the 4 has been scratched out and the metal pushed around to form a 1 which has some uneven areas along the sides.

Am I on the right track?

On the first it's about the gap between the 9 & "1" which used to be a 4 for 1944. A real 1914 would have much less of a gap between the 9 & 1

The second I'm not sure, maybe a 2 or 3 that was pushed, scrambled & shaved

I tried, but the item is no longer there! Congratulations to those reporting! I tried to report - but there was no way to say "fake"!

It will never end when there's money to be stolen. Buyers don't seem to care, either because they're ignorant or they're counting on being able to get their money back.

I wouldn't bank on the first one being genuine either. See how the numbers in the date line up?
On the second one, it may possibly even be a Memorial cent. He doesn't show us the reverse side.
Why would anyone even consider buying a coin like that, only seeing one side?

Yikes, the first coin looked really legit. Gotta be careful with stuff like this.
