The coins are scheduled to arrive via UPS sometime this morning or this afternoon. I'm afraid to even go to the bathroom lest I miss the doorbell, since a signature is required for this delivery...

Arrrgh... I looked out the window and happened to see the UPS guy making a delivery to the house across the street. I ran outside and flagged him down as he started to drive away. He said he didn't have anything for me today, and he's the only truck that regularly comes to my neighborhood, but it might have been put on the wrong truck by mistake and would therefore get here later this afternoon. Or tomorrow.

I hope it will be on an afternoon truck.

I'm losing faith for a delivery today. Hopefully, the universe will now conspire to prove me wrong...

w00t! The package just got delivered. Take that, universe! The box was unexpectedly heavy, but that's because APMEX included some promotional goodies like a 2016 calendar and stacks of multi-colored post-it notes. I'll try to post some pictures as soon as I can, but I don't think I can take any pics even close to as nice as the PCGS picture I referenced above.

I sympathize, Barry, having lost my parents around 1970. I never knew my grandparents and I am now older than either of my parents were when they passed away. We have one picture of our parents with my oldest nephew, born one week after the Moon landing. Anyway,

Well, here's the best I can do on the Morgan (it's really impossible to capture the reflectivity): As for the 1799 dollar, it's so dark that I couldn't improve on the pictures provided by the seller that I showed above.

Thanks, jbuck! As I've mentioned before, I have a lot of trouble accurately photographing poof coins. The coin in hand doesn't actually show much toning unless you tilt it into the light in just the right way, but at that angle it's very hard to see the reflectivity. Also, the very act of sticking a camera in front of the coin to photograph it blocks a significant amount of light and makes it nearly impossible to accurately capture what the coin looks like to the naked eye. I'm sure I could do better if I had a quality photography setup, but I'd rather spend my money on the coins than on the camera equipment...
FYI, while the TrueView picture from PCGS is truly stunning, it doesn't capture the reflectivity of the coin at all and over emphasizes the toning.
