I'd love to see a picture of it, before and after, once you've soaked it.
My best wishes that the "dot" just melts away, too.

Yes, please post some pics. I have a small bag of those myself I need to soak, I just haven't yet. I'm curious as I have never tried it before.

Any thoughts on the grade?
I always find buffalos very hard to grade with any accuracy.

I suppose technically it's a min-range AU.

If it makes it past the soak it should be at 45 for sure and maybe 50.

If it isn't details, it looks like it can grade between XF45 and AU50.

The obverse is nice . after the soak probably AU. but I'm not that generous with the reverse. IMHO EF-40 Details.

Would it still only get a "details" grade do you think?

When I look at your coin dipped in Acetone, it took off almost all the natural surface. I have been using Verdi-Care on Buffalo nickels, and it leaves most of the natural surface. I would have liked to have seen your coin dipped first in Verdi-Care and if it did not work, then, go to Acetone. The coin looks like it has been dipped or cleaned, so there is going to be exposure to a details grade. I liked the original surface better except for the spot on the reverse next to the five.

Fair point, maybe overdid it a little but I think on balance I prefer the 'after' rather than the 'before', as some of the muck on it was horrible.
I paid around the equivalent of $30, here in the UK so I think I did ok value wise.
