Many altered from 1944-D
Look for big space and scrapes or pits between 9 and 4.

The obverse of that Lincoln is a flat as a pancake, not to mention the date is hardly even visible. The overall grade clearly reflects the reverse but not the obverse at all. I've never seen wear like that before. I'm sure whoever submitted this cent must have been very surprised and excited with this comedic over-grade from ANACS!

Perfect example for buying the coin, not the slab!

The reverse will carry it. I agree G6 details.

Does the holder appear damaged to you guys? Maybe that's not the original coin that it contained.

Is it possible for corrosion to continue after the coin is in the slab...for like 10 years? Dumb question?

Sorry I don't own many slabs and the lower graded ones I had were cracked out for my albums.

Could be right cwb. I know these ANACS holders are less sturdy than PCGS/NGC holders.

Not a VG-10 by any means.

At best, G-06, looks like it could even be a G-04

It is a curious looking coin.

My eyes go to the mint mark and the bowtie. They seem
to stand out, when details around them are very worn.

I do agree the coin is graded high. And just saying
corroded is a little kind too. Think maybe harshly
cleaned would fit also.

I would agree with others, G6 for grade.

The mint mark position seems to be the same as mine,
or very close.

Honestly this shouldn't have even graded details at all, it should have just graded "Genuine" being a multiple problem coin.

Cleaned, corroded/environmental damage. Too many issues going on. The one I bought last week for $96 that is an AG-3 kicks this coin's butt.
