Quote: I swear I've seen that before. Where was it? If you are referring to the 1799 dollar with the 'mother of all die cracks' on the reverse, I have posted it several times in different threads, including the 'how far back can we go' series, and initially in a thread of its own when I was seeking info as to the variety (BB-22). Coin itself was a 'raw' ebay purchase some years back.

Quote: It's your choice, you can pick sentimental value, actual value or some other special reason. Whatever it is, I want to see the crown jewel of your collection. If I had to pick only one coin ever, this would be it. A Canadian 1870 5 cent raised border, double strike 7 variety, with slanted 0 because of its rarity. I posted this coin before in the Canadian Coin, Bank Note, and Paper Grading forum. https://goccf.com/t/244729The best thing I found, other than my lovely wife. Edited: Fixed a typo in a sentence.

I have others (too many) that I couldn't do without, but this is the first coin I ever spent over $100 on.

Wow ... that are some really great looking coins here Several I wish were in my collection. -------------------------------------------------------- I thought about what coin to post, there are many that I consider my favorite coin. I went with the one I get asked about the most, from non collectors. "what is the oldest coin you have" To me it is not only my oldest, but one of my favorites too. Alexander the Great circa 323 BC

I do have a Gold plated coin but this is better. I picked this up at auction for $750. As close to a proof coin as my budget will allow. The consensus with this coin is it is a business strike on a Proof planchet and a unique coin MS63 Proof Like

It definitely looks proof like. If it really is unique in that way, it's a very impressive piece.
