John77 amazing finds, congrats! Love to see all those pre 1960s. Call me crazy but I still think the 40s and 50s Jeff's will have their day sometime and could be worth a little something. They really are getting harder to find. I do a box a week myself.

I also wanted to add a general comment that 1964s are the kryptonite of nickel hunting. Man how many times I've thought I had an older Jefferson only to turn it over and see the dreaded "1964". I actually keep 1960s nickels too but I make sure the 64 never makes it into any roll I keep lol

Great stuff, John77. When you're hot, you're hot!

Dimes have been unproductive for me lately, but nickels have been better. Lots of 2024-Ps, and tonight this 1928-D Buffalo.

Thanks, all.

A great find TomM!

BTW, 2024-Ps have been quite elusive out here on the West coast. I'm still trying to finish up my first roll. Conversely, I lucked out again -2024-Ds are pretty easily found out here, particularly in Brinks rolls. As with the 2009 Denver coins, SoCal (and also Vegas) seems to have been a prime fed distribution spot.

CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Got my first 10 rolls today, can't wait to get in to them. I have been going through a 5 gallon bucket that I have been throwing my change in for years. Filled my Whitman Classic albums Back to the 50's except for the proofs and both 2024's. The bucket yielded all but 27 and from what I have read here the best chance at filling an album is to go with the nickels. I'm assuming I will need to buy the proofs at the end

First 10 dollars yielded 6 pre 1960's including a 1952S which I needed so I consider that a win, also a 41, 56D, 57D, 58D and 59D... oh and a pesky 2024P which I needed

As to errors and varieties.... maybe the obvious ones. They have to jump out waving at me to see it. People post pictures with an arrow pointing at it and I can't make it out most of the time. Hopefully I will get better with practice.

If you think you have something, share it with us. Even if it is nothing, you can set it aside as a learning example for future reference.

Nice finds.

If you find anything that you think is an error or a variety, you can always post it in the modern Variety and Error forum. I'll do my best to give an accurate answer. The obvious errors and varieties are the ones I like best. With enough practice, you'll be able to spot all sorts of varieties and errors. Patience and time is the key of learning.
