Today's finds are less spectacular: one brand new 2016 dime and one 1998 quarter. As said, I have a nose for it and I really like countries where cash is still king.

Not coins, but a awhile ago, while walking my dog I found some cash on the ground. Saw some ones on the outside of the fold and a twenty inside. Quickly stuck it in my pocket and went on my way. A few hours later I decided to count it and as I opened the fold I saw a hundred dollar bill...then another... and more. Total was $599!Checked facebook and waited awhile and nobody said anything. No wallet or any identifiers...just cash

I look forward to the snow in parking lots this time of year.Lost coins and objects fallen in the snow are plowed into piles and left to melt.I cruise these piles checking for treasures.

I found a $20bill on the ground at a garage sale this summer. I pick up pennies-all-the-time. I get way more excited about garage sale finds.

While metal detecting, I've found not only current coinage from the last 30-40 years, but a token with Teddy Roosevelt on it, a 1941 (I think) wheat in the sand of a beach, etc.
Nothing older than the wheat unfortunately.

grand total of my recent US trip is $2.52 in change. Not a single day without roadkill on the road.

That's a reversal of most hunts.Fellas go looking for coins and find many bottle caps.Good for you.Not so good for your friend. When I was younger (50s & 60s) ,I had quite the bottle cap collection. There were many nice designs back then and no money was spent to collect.

Dennman, quite the reversal indeed! jbuck, this one. I'm afraid it's common but it's surprisingly difficult to find something that isn't scratched, squashed, or rusted

Bottlecap hunt part 2. As I found only one last time and since I was visiting another city, which does not occur that often, I decided to look for some more bottlecaps for the same guy. And however improbable this may sound... the same thing happened again Bottlecaps found: at least 5 (I'm not knowledgeable enough to tell where the line between garbage and collectible lies - 5 are surely good, all others have some sort of faults). Coins found: 32... And it's exactly the same number of usable coins as last time. The total value is still negligible (not even a quarter) but one can't let this much cash lie around on the lawn... (okay, one was between tram tracks but still)
