Sorry if the images are blurry! This was the best I could do since I don't own a camera! Hopefully this will give you a vague idea of how small it is. I believe I put it into a penny sized frame if that describes it a little better.

You have some sort of miniature replica. I find these for sale at shows and I will admit to having bought a few.

I wonder what the 1961-1966 means then. It still does say "Half Dollar" on it so would it still be considered currency? I did check the dates again and it does say 1961-1966.

I would think the dates are probably 1961 - 1965. That would have been the years of his first term if he hadn't been assassinated. Elected in 60, took office in 61 and the term would have ended in Jan of 65.

If it were a shrunken coin it would be very thicK as no mass is lost during the shrinking process

One novelty set of miniature coins I saw on ebay said, "after taxes," on the 2X2 holder.

A-Miniature-Half-Dollar?

While I did not find an exact match for your "coin", there are a ton of these miniature novelty tokens made.

I agree with Buddy ......I've purchased a few myself, said they were silver too! Not really sure of that because really to small to chemically test but I thought they were cool.

Well, I'm honestly kind of disappointed. I got it from a relative so I didn't pay anything but I was really hoping it was something special. I suppose karma was on my side though because I did end up getting a 1964 Kennedy half dollar after the fact.

Well, it could still be worth a dollar.

Seriously, the value in what you inherited is mostly in your family history - regardless of the actual premium coin value. You're the third generation to own this as well as the other coins you inherited.

You might want to make notes about who the previous owner was for each of the coins you inherited. You may want to leave them to someone else some day.
