I like the look of those old British pennies. Funny, I think the reverse of the '87 Constitution is awesome. The other day I requested to change my avatar to that.

I don't necessarily agree about the halves; I think the design can fill up the space on a coin no matter how big it is, it all depends on how the artist/sculptor designs it. Any design can go on any size coin, though more detail definitely lends itself to a bigger "canvas". I love the '86 Ellis Island half, and plan to start a pocket piece of that too (maybe proof). I do like the forthcoming National Park half dollar design a lot better than the dollar design. I wish these halves were silver, like the classic series.

I don't really care much for the ASE reverse eagle design either. I hope it does grow on you as you'll probably look at it often being a pocket piece.

The halves being clad yet not being silver keeps me away from them. On maybe 80% of the series I prefer the halves when available. It you like cameos you would really like my fiancees.

So sad it's been stuck in the same place in Florida for almost 6 days on the tracking. I'm starting to worry about it, hoping it's just a scanning glitch. It's still within the guidelines for first class mail as long as it breaks for free and gets to me by in the end of the week.

Nice one Bertensgrad! ebay purchase - how much you pay?

Yep, got mine today as well:

got this together with a 1986 liberty $1 on ebay for $27.80 shipped. This '87 dollar had some tape glue residue on the reverse, probably dissuaded some bidders (that and both coins were loose).

Anyone know when they started frosting these UNC commems? This '87 coin definitely has a different surface treatment than some of the more recent UNCs that I have, which look similar to that ASE.

going in my pocket maņana. [<-- the maņana banana]

I'm always looking but I'm always broke haha GR58. The only way I can afford either one at this point is if they were holed and going for spot haha. I borrowed my fiancee's pocket piece tonight. They had the same wear originally and placed them in our wallets at the same time. This is the difference between blue collar and white collar work lol. Though I also cheated and reused a flip for mine.

If your ever ready let me know, I could list them in buy, sell trade section.
But they might go quick.

Sometimes I pick coins up cheap and don't mint pass them on at a good
price. I picked up three U.S. Marshal UNC coins ..no box. One has a
cracked air tite that I would sell for $25. Most times I have or can find
Constitution's for $15 ....

Not really trying to sell stuff ... I like to stack silver.

But like reading about you pocket piece journey.

I will keep it in mind. It's super tempting but I shouldn't at the moment. I'm not selling enough stuff on ebay this month. It's been miserable and I'm more then $200 under my average this month. It happens when you sell toys mostly :(.

The big thing right now I'm looking for is halves to add to my pockets. I'm looking for commemorative modern halves clad or maybe even silver Washington. I kinda want two so I can sandwich my ASE between. I officially hit AU on it now haha. Can definitly see wear on the high points.

Just let me know if your are ever interested.

The commemorative half idea sounds good too.
There are two different 90% silver commemorative half dollars.
1982 Washington and 1992 Bill of rights. Those might be good
companions for your pocket ASE.

GR58 - are you typically picking these up cheap on ebay or at coin shows, etc?

I showed my sister my coin for her daughter today and she told me I probally should be looking for a 2016 to wear in too lol. Apparently will I be a uncle again. They will be 20 months apart but still super early. I will have to look at the commendatives issues this year and decide what way to go. Mark Twain would be tempting for a boy.

It's complicated. Fiancee is a early term I guess but it's easier to be politically and gender neutral using it. We have talked heavily about it but haven't committed yet. We wanted to get a little more stable first and there will be family issues when it happen that will put Romeo and Juliet to shame haha. Anyways in mixed company where no one knows me personally it's easier to say that.

I'm young but not a super YN. I do however have a 11 yo brother into coins and likes this website and when he has questions I supervise him with my account haha. So I can see why you would think that. My parents are super strict on his internet usage so this is the only way he can take part without breaking their rules haha. However 90% it's only me posting.

Young coin collector pretty much. It's late and I can't spell the n word easily :) too sleepy. Usually under 18. I'm in my 20's so don't quite fit there anymore though I started at 9.
