He won't loose his job, haha. The owner doesn't know what he has laying around the place. Everything is a mess and he literally throws coins all over the place.

Oh, and don't get me wrong. I think you did EXTREMELY well, and, had I the funds, I would offer you a significant profit for it. Problem-free it is a $300+ coin. But my thoughs on value are just what I observed at the link you shared.

Perhaps you would get more with BIN OBO than a conventional auction shoul you choose to sell it.

Nice score Drew. It is very difficult to get anything pre-1800, even heavily damaged, cheaply. And on this coin even though there is plenty of wear and damage it is still very recognizable.

Hey wait shouldn't this be moved to the stolen coins forum.
In all seriousness, did you contemplate the integrity of purchasing a coin, which the owner priced at $50, for only $3.
I am not trying to be a killjoy, but I am seeing this from a totally different angle.
Just because some kid who works there and is not allowed to price things says- "hey you can steal this" does not make it any more right.
You know that the owner would not be happy with that sale and you take comfort in the fact that he will never know, because his shop is a mess. You could have just stuck it in your pocket and walked out- without paying $3 for it.
Just Saying...

If your dealer is fair in his pricing you might not want to risk souring your business relationship over a $50 score especially since he had already let you know what he wanted for the coin. What done is done, but you might be more careful in the future.

All the workers hate the owner, lol. He's a true jerk, that's half of the reason why some of this stuff goes cheap lol. I'm not going to tell you about some of the things he's done, though.

And, the OWNER did NOT price it at $50. The worker did.

The stuff that the owner prices is all overpriced, hence the reason why it sits around.
