This piece needs to be certified by either ICCS, PCGS, NGC, or CCCS.

To get the best opinion on this piece I really suggest trying to post better pictures. This can be accomplished with a smart phone.

Well, you can get no higher up on the dealer scale than Sandy Campbell at Proof Positive, who is the ebay seller. He deals in the rarified air of 5 & 6 figure individual coin sales

Speaking of Proof_Positive_Coins, why would they have on their ebay listing that they would accept 'no returns' and they are from Baddeck Nova Scotia yet say, May not ship to Canada?

To the OP nice coin for being dug.

You'd have to ask Sandy, but I would guess that it had to deal with the Canadian Postal service and insurance concerning coins ... or lost/stolen items.

He will probably be at Nuphilex in Montreal March 11 always at most large coin shows.

He will be at TOREX in downtown Toronto Feb. 25, 26, so a long drive or flight, good luck.

Thank you very much guuys, this is very good to know about Sandy Campbell.. and speaking of his ad for the coin on ebay, it amazes me that this coin is touted as being so famous in the provincial series yet nowhere have I found what it is that is making this coin so.. is it really just it's rarity?

I know in 1817 the government tried to remove all tokens from circulation in favor of the new currency but really nothing else historical really happened in 1816..

This token is not like a MS 66 1948 dollar priced about the same or a little more, the token probably is rare but so are token collectors at that price, unless the Irving's need one.
