Very nice pair of coins .. both nice additions to your collection. That 1820 LC is really nice, I have seen those die cracks before ... really catches my eye

@ALL Thanks for the nice compliments guys and gals (I assume there are some here, right)? I was wondering if anyone else had any former Gene Gardner Collection coins they wanted to share ... especially if they had to do some numismatic detective work to discover their provenance. @johnjkedel I agree with you about the cent being awfully nice for the grade ... maybe I should sent it in to PCGS and see what they have to say about it. @OcalaFlorida I am glad you had fun with your Photoshop but I think you have too much Y in the CMYK @GR58 Completely agree on the die cracks as well. Seems like some of the other Randall Hoard varieties have extensive cracks as well but right now I am not going to look it up ... pretty sure there's an 1819 var. with lots of the same kind of radial die cracks going on. Best Regards, George

1818 N-10, it almost always has that crack. There is no 1819 with cracks through the stars like those. The 1820 is N-13 and it almost always comes with that crack as well. Both the 18 N-10 an 20 N-13 are Randell hoard coins and are readily available in MS.

Nice coins!
The Barber almost cures my dislike for dimes.
But not quite. Though lately I've felt a hankering for an 1859-s. The dimes are the empty holes in my Whitman pre 1860 San Francisco silver album.

Why in the world do you dislike dimes? So many wonderful dates to choose from. 1916-D, 1921-PD, 1860-O, 1874-CC, 1894-S (!), 1885-S, all those groovy Capped Bust dimes in gorgeous toned that can be had for under a grand in high-grade AU, sometimes even Mint State. ? Best Regards, George

The bust dime is pretty and superbly toned, but that 1820 large cent is superlative. Even hard core EAC'ers would have a hard time finding fault with that one. Congratulations!
