This is one set that is always on my mind for giving it a go. I would want all FBL but that 53-s FBL is quite the expensive piece. Anyway congrats and some pictures would be cool

I will post pics later this afternoon when I get home from work. The 3 hard dates that are pricey in fbl are 49s , 51s, and 53s. All are high grade but not fbl. I feel franklins are underrated sleeper sets, which will become popular again in the near future.

When I was younger, and half dollars actually circulated, I always thought Franklins were ugly. Now, decades later, I have come to appreciate the simple yet elegant design. Congrats on completing the set.

The Franklin halves are such a fun set to assemble. You can be picky for every one of the dates as long as you are not looking for FBL for every coin. Nice to hear that you have mixed TPG (I hope the majority of the ones that are not PCGS are NGC!). If you are buying the coin, rather than the slab, you learn so much about the series you are acquiring. Most deserved congratulations.

Nice! Is that just lighting / shadows on the 1951S?

muddler - good decision. Buy the early ones first - they keep getting tougher.

51s got a tarnish spot over time I think on franklins face. I have a similar one but not as noticeable.

It really is a joy seeing a nice graded set like that. I am thinking you have a lot of time vested in putting that set together. It looks like it was worth it
