If it's an ancient ring made with an Allectus antoninianus that is a fascinating find!

Could we please see the reverse side of the ring mount? I want to see how it was constructed, whether the coin design can be seen or not. It may tell us something about the age of the ring.

Interesting piece, the coin appear to be encapsulated and not joined at the edges. Does the coin move at all or is it solid in the mount? I wouldn't attempt to remove the coin. It's a more interesting piece as it is.

Looks like a iron band that has corroded away set in bronze. I think a ancient ring would be all bronze but am not a expert. Still looks very old and worth researching.

Hi all,just like to say thank-you again for all the info,so I tried to remove to coin from the ring and it snapped into pieces,obviously it was a tourist gift or something similar.. Never mind
