I suggest that you read the fine print before ordering this !

There is no deal to be had on HSN.

HSN, the jewelery channel and the coin channel should have a note after their names, "for suckers only".

Does this include the "Coin Vault" show? I was watching that the other night, and couldn't believe how much it sounded like a really bad ebay auction...

Average people watch Letterman or Leno monologues for their funnies. Numismatists watch Coin Vault.

HSN = Bad ,,their prices are always double or more what they can be found for in other venues ,over graded, over priced ,over hyped !
Please do not buy any of the plated coins !

Probably understated. I would have said it a little more strongly.

I have only watched the HSN a couple of times but happened on it when they were selling the Presidential dollars.

It's sad that hundreds of people will make purchases from them, and then down the road discover it really wasn't a great deal and that what they have is much less valuable than they had thought.

And it has been going on for over a decade, and there were a lot of overpriced sources for the general public long before them. After awhile you stop feeling sorry for people who insist on spending large amounts of money on things they know nothing about. Especially when they keep going back time and time again without getting any advice.

Before the "coin forum", I had participated in the "Quarter Mania" from CSN and it was a learning experience I'll never repeat !! I found out AFTER talking to people here.....you are now armed with good sound experienced advice from professionals and very learned collectors. (which isn't me ! but they're all over this forum !)
I saw the other night the HSN guys were doing Morgan silver dollars ! They wanted $1,000.00 for a group of them.......... I liken them to the Snake Oil Salesmen and carpetbaggers of the Old West in the 1800's ! You know where they'd be tarred and feathered and "run out of town" after taking advantage of people. (if not hung from a tree !) They would try to sell you the Broklyn Bridge if they could. They are very good slick "sellers" of products (coins in this case. Like a televangelist in the 80's convincing you to send him your money ! Listening to them and their "show" display and the "technique" they use.......it's just incredible for people NOT armed with the knowledge before watching it ! Those "salesmen" could be successful in ANY field they chose ! (i bet you) There are enough people out there who will make these purchases for some time to come.........just based on "salesman technique" ! It's something to see truly !! (and I fell prey to them once !)
