VF-20, possibly cleaned. In the U.S. probably worth about $25 or thereabouts, so I think you did fine.

Much nicer than my first Flying Eagle cent that's for sure. That is a fine type coin. Even better than fine, probably VF20. Nice pickup. Everyone should have at least one Flying Eagle cent. |

I like it.
I figure it saw several years of circulation (back then a cent was important in commerce) and then maybe left on the last ship leaving those crazy ex-colonists at the start of the war.
