Longbow;

Yes, your picture shows it nicely as not initials but that is clearly a damaging imprint of some kind.

I'm wondering if the rust spot is some kind of splash on the coin.
The reverse, looks as though it has a mud smear in one small section of the denticles.
I'm loath to dip it in Acetone, but may have to with this one.

Train tracks. It's caused by the rim reeding of one coin slamming into the surface of another. Common on bagged coins such as Morgan dollars. The unusual line looks like just a bag mark, it's not in a clash location

Bill, you may be right but this is a CC Morgan and they get away with murder at TPG's! They'll probably * it for eye appeal due to the orange toning

I find the flatness of the obverse rims suspect while the reverse rims are sharp. There also looks to be metal movement at 10 o'clock and 1 o'clock on the obverse rims and I can't tell from the pictures but there could be some filing marks on the obv rims Did you weigh the coin?

Additionally, the obverse looks flat and there are numerous small spots or raised areas in the fields near the second A in America, under Dollar and the date. What is that line left of the L in Liberty that impacts the fields but not the devices. May have been a good deal for a reason.

Sorry it turned out to be fake.

My initial gut reaction was it was fake but I didn't have any evidence to support my thinking. Was this an ebay purchase? I hope you are able to get your money back.

Yes it was an ebay purchase, luckily I did not pay much for it.
The reverse is identical to this 1893 CC, shown in the link below. Note the O in Of America, and the missing part of the O at about 7 o'clock.

Same here. After reviewing the pictures, I see a lot of things that I should have not missed.
