Just one counter in a branch, here. When it breaks, I'll bet that's the end of it.

I bank with Bank of America. I search cents at a rate of a box per week (+/-) and re-roll as I search. They provide me with wrappers when I ask for them. I'm rarely even asked to prove that I have an account at any of the branches.

Fortunately where I live I know of at least several places with machines, so I'm a dumper, though occasionally I might re-roll a box to sneak in a few foreign coins. Of the PNCs in my region within 20 minutes, two had a counting machine last time I checked, so we'll see if indeed it is a company-wide policy. As they say, time is money and since the tellers most of the time open up and re-wrap the rolls using rubber bands (usually in groups of 10), I'd rather have them change bags at the machines than re-roll. It also means that the coins go back "into the wild".

I re-rolled at first since my BoA branch lacks a counter, but the manager told me a couple months ago that they could send the coins back to be counted, so now every time I get a box they give me one of those thick plastic bags that I fill, seal and bring back, then the money shows up in my account a few days later.

Click,
I personally use my Credit Union for my dump bank because they have a machine. I know someone that had/has an account at BofA and was able to return coins in bags. All he did was write the denomination, amount, and account number on the bags and just take them in. Don't know if he is still doing it. Haven't talked to him in over a year. Hope this helps. Good luck to you.

I hoist a sack over the counter, usually $500 in dimes or halves. Directly to the vault teller. Never counted. Get cash immediately.

I too use my local credit union. I have two branches within 10 minutes of me. I dump $500 1-2x a week at one and dump $300 at the other one 2-3 a week. My second bank limits me to the $300...my other bank is more lenient with me,....some coin I reroll and dump at Bank of America or key banks....I have accounts with them too.

My bank has a coin counter. I get some good stuff because it seems like people leave a lot of change, foreign and Wheaties with the occasional silver. I go to a Wells Fargo.

My dumps go to a bank with a coin counter, but I also deposit some in a checking account that I have at another bank. When I deposit I have to roll the ones that go to that bank, but it helps give my regular dump bank a break ever once in a while.

I roll and return, but I don't send them back all at once. I take the time to track what I get on a spreadsheet, and when I get five or six rolls they get taken to the dump for recycling.
It can take me a while to process a box.
