Raven. Little Debbie cakes out of your room? I have to ask, what college? Did your Grand give you any other coins? Take some pictures, post them and we'll tell you what's what.

I agree. ebay would be the best place to sell them. List as an auction, and take clear pictures with a good camera. Especially if they are in great condition. Silver is almost $18 an ounce right now ($4 higher than it was 6 months ago). And 1964 JFK halves will sell for more than the value of silver every time. If you don't need to sell them, they would be great to hang onto as a long term investment. (Silver and Gold are great to hang onto.) But if you do decide to sell, it might be nice to keep one as a keepsake from your Grandmother. I know I would. Welcome to the site. Look around and ask questions. Tons of experience here. It is an invaluable resource of great advice and immense knowledge.

Before you do anything, check the back of at least 5 random halves. If they have a small D mint mark, bottom left side of coin just under the branch that the eagle is holding then they might be worth a little more ,as I have found that 64-D Kennedy's are hard to come by for reasons unknown . BTW , To CCF .

According to NumisMedia,P and D are almost the same value. Any chance there are any accented hair varieties mixed in there? Also errors/varieties of any kind? That would add numismatic value. John1

If the coins were obtained in Dallas by Grandma back in the 1960s, then they might be Denver mint coins.

Being from Grandma, I would keep them. I have a Lincoln Cent album filled from my Mom's penny jar. Mom passed away 5 years ago. Mom's pennies will never be for sale. Silver being the volatile metal that it is may one day be worth $50 an ounce again. My 2 cents worth says keep 'em.

Welcome, Rusty. It really depends on what you want to do with them. Personally, I think silver is going to go up the next several months and likely until the 2020 election so I would hold onto them unless you're in need of cash. ebay auction is the way to go for selling them IMHO.

I inherited a roll of Kennedy halves recently as well. I will probably eventually separate them out, put them in flips, and sell them individually on ebay.
