I would like this set if the price were better, since it would prevent the doubles from buying both the clad and silver proof sets. The ASE would be a bonus.
Rest in Peace

The U.S. Mint is simply trying to see how many possible ways they can package the same coins so collectors will NEED to buy as many different "sets" as possible.

But U.S. collectors are blessed in comparison to the poor Canadian collectors. They need their own producing gold mines just to buy one of each of each different coin produced every year.

You forgot about the 3rd party graders who will mark coins as having come from particular sets after they receive them sealed.

I see third party graders offering gold SLQ's in MS70 (?) for $700 when you could buy them from the Mint for $485. How much better are those third party coins than ones from the mint and sold by the mint to unwashed masses? Spot price of silver is $17.50 today so what is price of hockey pucks with TR on them? I would not mind having one but to pay an extra $50 for what is silver bullion I don't see.

Three different issues

..70 grade coins will always sell for more than raw coins...not rocket science there. Up to you to decide what to collect

...TR bullion pucks sell for around $106...$17 over spot for 5 ounces ($3.40/oz)

If you want a pure silver play buy rounds or bars

...I have no clue what either has to do with the LE proof set

The price has been set at $139.95 which works out to at least $28.99 for the packaging, $139.95 - $53.95 (for the ASE) - $52.95 (for the silver proof set) - $4.06 (the face value of the coins from the silver proof set that are not included) = $28.99.

I don't see any benefit to owning these sets either.

Already have all the coins it offers.

I liked the set for one reason. I collect Mint and Proof sets too. I see the Silver Proof sets and feel the ASE should of been included from it's inception, making these sets a unique set as far as whats included in it........

I think that having it in the OGP, which I an advocate for, Is unique along with the rest of this sets coins.

I also feel breaking down the coins included in this set by their own prices, this set and the you S Mint's silver and gold coins offered are more than a tad pricey.......
