Blank - A disk of metal after it has been punched from a sheet of flat metal. After the blank is milled to form the edge it is referred to as a planchet.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong. A blank (not blank planchet) does not have raised rims. The blank becomes an unstruck planchet once it has been upset to produce rims.

Pete is correct. Not sure if these are real or not though.

The chances of having a whole bunch of these, looking nearly the same, is very small. Finding a blank is way more than a one-in-a-million chance when you are searching bags. Having that many all at one time is nearly impossible.

I have been searching pennies for about 6 years up in Canada and I have found about 10, so they are out there.

I couldn't even guess how many cents I have searched through in the past decades, but I have never found one in circulation.

I have always hoped to find a 95% copper one to put in my 1922 Plain hole.

I have a few rolls of U.S. cent blanks and planchets, both zinc and copper that I have accumulated over the years. I also have Canadian cent planchets in various weights. Canada tended to change the weights of the planchets every so often. I also have blank copper planchets from foreign countries that I can't identify.

At an ANA convention a few years ago, someone distributed a package with an unstruck planchet and a normal Lincoln Cent. Presumably someone else could get access to a quantity.

I used to have a couple of 2009 dated sets that I got at shows. Not sure where they went.

10 blanks or 10 planchets? Planchets are a lot more available than blanks.

But what the OP has are not unstruck planchets, no upset rims.
