Quote:Those are all 1928 Peace dollars, aren't they? Sometimes it is very hard to see, more so from pictures. I have seen customers bring 1923 Peace dollars into the LCS, thinking they are 1928's. If they all are 1928's, then post better pictures of each one. I am thinking they are not all 1928's, but again .. hard to see in group pictures like this.

THX! Ya it's very nice, agreed! Sorry I've mixed the coins up so much in these images. Made it hard to keep track of which is which, lol.

Your Peace dollars have some nice toning. Your plastic flips are fine for short term storage, but the homemade flips could have PVC and damage your coins. You should buy some flips that do not have PVC like SAFLIP for long term storage.

I've got some proper flips coming in the mail, but don't worry, these are polypropylene, so I think it's fine.

Nice gift from your great G'Ma. I have always loved the Peace dollar. And good to see you have some flips coming.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the danger of Staples on flips.. In my early days of collecting (probably long before you were born) I had a stack of Bust Halves in 2x2 cardboard holders and never squeezed the Staples closed.. As I slid one over the other while showing the coins, one of the staples ripped through the cellophane of the underlying coin and left a nice bright silver scratch on the Bust of the gray toned Half.. I still have the coin & have used it as a "Teaching" tool back in my Dealer days showing new collectors that purchased 2x2's from me on how NOT to holder a coin.. You may want to research your Silver Dollars for VAM's on VamWorld.com

Peace dollars with mintage of less than one million are sleepers IMO. Same goes for many Morgans.

Welcome to the forums! I hope you stick around and soak in all the information.
The silver dollars you posted above may not be rare in numismatic terms but I'm sure they are very precious to you due to who they belonged.
I have some wheat cents from my Great-Grandfather's collection and cherish them since they where part of the collection that inspired me into collecting. Unfortunately the silver coins in the collection were pilfered by a greedy aunt who we suspect was ransacking his home during the funeral service.
