Do you have a Charlton coin catalog? It (or any of the other standard catalogs of Canadian coins) explains how to diagnose the various obverse(s) associated with each date. In the case of the 1883H there are two possible obverses, one of which (Obv 4) is much scarcer than the other. Attributions stated on TPG holders are not always correct. Having a standard catalog is a must for dealing with the major varieties.

definitely not an Obverse 4. The easiest way to tell is in the forehead. The Obv 4 is flattened in the middle, the Obv 5 is rounded

The last Charlton lists only 17 known but there are more than this. Besides the one in my collection, I have cherry-picked another one in the last year which was raw.

Schooner ... Have Louis give you your money back for the cert or have him grade something else for free. Don't his "variety" gradings cost more?

On an interesting note, that coin does not show up in the CCCS database. Probably hasn't been updated yet.

to be fair to Louis I don't think he has seen this or he would have responded but I shall let him know and I'm sure he will correct it.

i find it more likely that this was a typo than a grading miscue.
