A bit surprised, given the chatter in the right obverse field and skirt, but apparently the blow-out luster carried the day, and I must agree - great example.

I'm sure the photos exaggerate the contact marks but the obverse does seem marginal for a 65 CAC grade. The pristine reverse probably sealed the deal. Beautiful coin, regardless. Congrats!

This one's a beauty. A few years ago at the FUN Show, a dealer had 14 rolls of circulated '38-D's for sale. IMHO, it's an over-rated key, except when in such choice condition as our OP's coin.

I actually did not think about any bodily proportions when I clicked on this thread.
Nice coin! I feel like the photos over-exaggerate the obverse contact marks.
