In that case, how's the weight on this one? If it's thicker but has the same diameter, you'd expect more weight.

The thing is that it looks like a pretty well-circulated coin, which usually points more in the direction of PSD, at least to me it does.

OK I have to ask, I've been seeing a lot of this PSD lately what does it stand for.
I thought it was supposed to be PMD but I guess not.

Well, if a normally struck coin gets dropped on the mint's floor and shows extreme signs of damage, technically it happened at the mint, so it's a mint error, but it happened after the strike, so really it should be called Post Strike Damage ( PSD), rather than Post Mint Damage ( PMD) because it did happen at the mint.

Crazy, I know....

PSD is less confusing. There is a place to make a suggestion to put it in the glossary. Do it!

Agree, PSD is less confusing. In this case, it surely was deliberate rather than circulation-related.

I agree it's probably PSD...but why would it be thicker all around..and the same diameter as a normal cent...how do you smash a coin thicker?...lol

Probably the edge was hammer as well making the rim to appear taller on the coin.

Maybe a new acronym for this one. PSM--Post Strike Mutilation.

Good job Dustin.
Chief, in my opinion this coin should not be spent. I think it should be on public display. Considering it's face value, and especially it's condition, I believe it would be appropriate to throw it out the window on the interstate. Passer byers could marvel at it as it's condition improves over time. I realize it would require some effort to make that possible, but I truly feel that this one is more than worthy. jmo lol
