I guess the mint sells to third parties, like TPG, auction houses, and large bulk clients before they are put for public sale. Which kind of makes cents, sell to companies that order 1000's of them before selling single units to the public.

I just ordered a couple 2017 ASE bullion coins. Wish I'd ordered a few weeks back but nevertheless, I'm looking forward to adding one to my CAPS album.

Beautiful coin, but, and someone will kill me for saying this, the reverse design needs an update. Maybe 35th anniversary.

No one will begrudge you that thought, Illegaltender, and you're welcome to it. To each their own. I love both obverse and reverse designs of the ASE but I do see where some folks might not agree and would be ready for a change. The edge-incused lettering on the 2016 proof and burnished issues wasn't enough of a change for you? Also, if you're looking for a change and have the funds you could buy the AGE or APE instead? Or the (potentially) upcoming APdE.

I think the eagle from last year's silver liberty medal would look amazing as part of an update the the ASE reverse.
