Dimes, then halves, then nickels. Over six straight years of hunting dimes, my finds averaged one silver per $150 searched. Halves, maybe one or two 40% per box. Nickels, one War Nickel per two boxes.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72

I like pennies to be honest. They are the cheapest, have the most per roll, and have the most errors of any coin. They're the absolute cheapest, ($0.50 per roll, $25 per box). They have wheats, sometimes Indians, sometimes dimes, many errors. The massive quantity of pennies produced allows more time for error. Not including off centers and die clashes, there's a book with over 100 pages of Lincoln Cent errors.

Good luck, Eddie! I find the volume guys end up with better luck doing halves. I did fourteen boxes of halves in about a month, and there are people here that run through that many per week! Out of those boxes, I only ended up with 2 90% and 16 40% -- I couldn't even put together a roll of silver! And dumping is a pain. I've gotten into cents recently. An early 1999 WAM got me hooked, then I started noticing errors: die chips, die breaks, a fun lamination. I'm still looking for a second coin worth grading so I don't have to send in the WAM solo.

Yea, lots of work ahead for me. I was going to get 1 box of halves but my bank didn't have a box. I also asked if there was anyone else buying boxes and they said no. Smaller town so that might be great for me. I plan on ordering 2 boxes of halves next week.
As for now, I am only 3 rolls of nickels into this hunt. Nothing significant yet bet it's still very early in this game.

the best rolls are the ones that you can get your hands on. There is luck, and there is strategy. Nice pickup of boxes, you should hopefully have some good finds in there. If there are not, dont be discouraged. Keep looking and you will find.

It takes me an evening to do five bucks in cents, so you'll be busy there. Compare your roll rates over the different denominations. I think I can at least half a box of halves in the time it takes me to do the five bucks.

14,000 coins... that would take me about 2 days or so... Have fun! And good luck!
I was going to recommend nickels first, halves next, cents third, dimes fourth... quarters are boring unless you're trying to complete a modern set - a lot of the 2009-2012 dated coins are very tough to come by due to low mintages.
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Thank you all for all of the replies. Please keep those suggestions coming if you have any. I have only gone through one box of nickels so far. Nothing great found yet just a few pre-1960 and two Canadians. Nickels go fairly easy and pennies seem to go very slow because of the amount of errors and key dates to look for. But I do really enjoy searching pennies and I also do keep all Copper's. I still have not done quarters or halves but I plan on doing two boxes of halves next week.

I go through phases of crh'ing myself, I have poor luck though, I think my best luck comes from nickels, dimes I get lucky every once in a while but it's usually a Canadian silver that I find
