Nice!
Nothing wrong with free coins! I have a few sets like the ones from Littleton that my father in law bought cheap at auction and gave to me... I'll take them!

The Barber half (Liberty Head) will be one of the more expensive ones to get in MS condition in your 20th century set. I did a 21st century US type set using 2X2 holders and a three ring binder. If you want to see what I did, go to this forum thread: http://goccf.com/t/232434

batboy, your 21st type set is nice. I would like to add the silver versions of the dime, quarter and half. Of course, that puts it onto 2 pages. Maybe I will have to wait for the mint to produce some new types.

And batboy, this might be sacrilegious, but early 20th century types are not my real interest (at this time), so spending a bunch to upgrade the liberty head half is not high on my list. Would rather get a high quality Buffalo nickel.

Cool, it's your collection, so you do what you want. That's the beauty of coin collecting.

Littleton sells conservatively graded coins at 3x the price of what they should be.

jwm! on your first completed type set album! I think it is extra special that you have incorporated some of the coins your mom sent you. Makes it even more special. Very nice.

I think its funny they call the Barbers by the proper name (Liberty head), and it still says Mercury (rather than winged Liberty.)
Also, not to nitpick, but your Morgan isn't from the 20th century ;)
I have thought about getting this folder to fill, all the ones I have I'm trying to fill out of circulation.

SpaceMaNy0 It is funny about the "Mercury" dime. I remember how exciting it was to get one as change as a kid. And they were always Mercury dimes. I never knew them by any other name at the time. As to the Morgan, nice catch! I was so excited to "fill a hole" in my album, I neglected to check the date. I purchased the Morgan and Peace dollars a while back when silver was much cheaper as I wanted an example of each type, not knowing where my collecting would take me. Now I need to check on a 20th century version of the Morgan to really finish my first album. Thanks. Keep me honest!

SpaceMaNy0, Don't feel bad about the 1896 Morgan. It is the same series, looks the same as the actual 20th century coin would, but as you correctly pointed out, it is not technically a 20th century coin, just a place- keeper for the eventual ACTUAL 20th century coin. As I said, keep me honest! I appreciate the candor.
