Toughts on grade and problems stiil appreciated. Thanks atlashealth. This is the Brunner and Frost grading section plate coin in their Double Dimes reference book. Looks pretty similar. AU55. I cant determine if the surfaces are original or not however I will point out a section on the right of the obverse that is darker in color and what appears to be swipe marks across it. take a closer look at the area.

I'm with panzaldi at AU55. Nice die crack with chip on the reverse. No call on the surfaces, but it doesn't look unattractive to me.

Looks to me like an early state die strike based on the surfaces that appear to have a proof-like quality and razor sharp devices.
Toning is milky, dark in spots, and sometimes streaky - which might be indicative of a dip. Hairlines may indicate a wipe.

Thanks folks. Beautiful coins johntookit. My Seated quarter is XF45. I have a brother named John and I do recall remarking many times that he took it, whatever that was. That's a nice one! I'm at AU-58 and looks original to me. I had it at AU-55 but the stars look struck up real nice.

Thanks to all for your input. I got this in the mail today and it is just as advertised. Apparently these folks take better pictures than I do. Was able to pay $350 for this and would appreciate your thoughts on the price. $350.00 is a very good price. Your example has a great strike. In the series, so often the stars are not fully struck and yours all 13 are struck up. Some hairlines on the obverse but perhaps it was just the angle it was taken. Like this coin a lot.
