I love these cents! I used to own a couple similar to these.

The first coin is mislabelled in the holder. It is a beautiful double strike coin with both dates clearly visible, but it is not flipped (I.e., the coin did not flip over between the two strikes).

Thank you Scissel you are correct I made note of it and blacked out the flip strike.
It was mentioned to me by Spp a couple of years ago and I went back to work and totally forgot about it until you brought it back up.

Very nice papeldog!
I regret selling mine after looking at yours.
They look so good in CCCS hard slab!

I too have a pair of these, they are easy to find in MS-63RB but tougher to find in nicer grades as "Red" (PCGS Red is even tougher). I like that how your double struck in collar is almost 180 degrees rotation.

Here are my two:

Double Struck, 2nd strike flip-over in collar - https://www.PCGS.com/SetRegistry/my...rd/1825199/0

Double Struck, in collar - https://www.PCGS.com/SetRegistry/my...rd/1825200/0

They are lovely coins.

I want to dispel the myth that these are common. They're not. And the really nice ones are that much scarcer.

It's just that the small cent error collector pool is very small, so that collectors like myself can have 8 of these without much effort.

That was part of the reason that I put them in a hard slab so further damage didn't happen to them as they were completely red when I purchased them years ago. But through the years they started to tone I wish I would have got them in the hard slab earlier when they were still red

From what Rob has said,..they will eventually go RB and then BN..

I've seen that already happen with some of my large cents unfortunately.. Being in a fairly damp climate does not help at all.

Now if all of our cents were down in Nevada etc..we would have a better chance at keeping the Red for a much longer time..

Coating them in a clear lacquer also helps a lot.

I did get to see an amazing 29 SP cent last year that was graded by PCGS but also had a heavy clear coat on it..
It looked as if was struck yesterday.

I think that it was graded 66 or 66+ and Red..and was purchased in the 5 figures.. It was as perfect as perfect can be..So some will stay red if the right steps are taken..

Thanks for all the comments and replies.
I am going to send it back to louis for proper wording I have another New Brunswick coin that he hard slab that is improper wording as well.
But I really like his hard slab they show the coin well and you read the year denomination and grade from the top and on the front same thing but with info about coin. I'll keep using them for hard slab variety coins he is a little less money and in Canada.
Your two coins are very nice Spp I agree with you they are a lot harder to find better than a MS-63 condition
CV I really haven't targeted them so I'm not sure how common they are but I have seen them up for sale but not for a while now.

Happy Hunting

There are many of this date around, they sell for only a couple hundred dollar because there is so many around, this kind of error in another year will be at 500.00 or more depending on eye appeal. I know of a couple of errors guys who has 2 and 3 versions of the 69.

Very nice... dates other than 1969 are very scarce!! I have double strike or flip strikes from 1941, 1949, 1956, 1962 and 1970. Not easy ones to find!!
