Winning bids are undisclosed even for approved bidders at Auction Network. Most if auction houses post winning bids prices so I don't know why they don't do it. Its like they are hiding something.
Also I do have a question regarding shipping costs for the Auction Network. I read on another forum they charge $30 for even small items. It seems excessive when Colonial Acres only charged me $11 for shipping for last weekend's auction. So how much do they charge for shipping?

I just got my invoice for the ring that I got on Sunday and was shocked. The total for Purolator GROUND was $47.25 insured. I'm glad that I didn't get the 125 SMLs or I would have to drive to Markham from Victoria, BC. Fool me once...

They have also relisted the 1948 silver dollar with no picture of the obverse again. Any gamblers out there?

Weird.. I just got my invoice and there was no shipping charge what so ever...
My bid.. plus the juice and taxes is all.... (although that's quite a bit!)

Pickup is available until Thursday and then they will send out the invoices for shipping.

Ohh I just looked into that shipping as I thought it was odd it wasn't on my invoice.... they ship things through a 3rd party.....Pak-mail.
For my one item they're going to charge an additional $30 plus GST...
My fault for not reading all the tabs and assuming.... *sigh* I can totally see why many people would pass on the "auction network" items.... simply put there's better auction companies out there.
I have learned from this experience... you all have now been warned!

Anyone know how much the 1948 silver dollar sold for? The "winning bid undisclosed" is very irritating.

I believe that a previous poster stated it has already been relisted... so while the auction network said it sold... it really didn't..

I was asking about the relisted 1948 dollar which was in yesterday's auction. According to the auction site this "relisted" dollar was sold. Wondering how much it went for.

There was no picture of the obverse so there was no way to even guess on the grade. Frustrating.

I am a regular bidder on icollector, but I won't go near Auction Network. Underhanded or unethical are the words that come to mind to describe their business practices. On the up side, I have had some great deals come my way on icollector auctions over the last couple of years, and there are a couple of Canadian auctioneers on there that I make a point of never missing.

I learned that the store itself will not be closing. Willard Burton is finally retiring but there will be a new owner who wants to maintain it as a coin shop for all levels of collectors. The name of the store will not be changing, as it is already established in the area.

I won some items through auction network a couple of years ago. When I contacted the shipper they wanted over $125.00 for shipping. Called AN with complaint and eventually AN shipped package out. Went to the post office to pick up and asked what the postage was , came out to $38.00 and was not charged as AN shipped package. Last time bidding on that site.

And they're still not done, there's another "auction" tomorrow. If you like ACG graded coins, gaudy jewelry, tacky artwork and outrageous shipping cost, this one is for you !
