I prefer that common coins of yesterdays not the over price junk of today

LOL

Why do you even bother commenting about today's RCM "junk" (and trashing it) if you don't like it?

Just keep collecting the "common" coins of yesterday. Nothing wrong with that if that's what you prefer.

@Bigchip22

I have always said that your name suits you < LOL LOL LOL

Calling all new coins junk is truly not a great comment. Are you having a bad day?

@New1954

I think he's just bored and seeking attention. It's getting old.

@Looney4Numi

You are probably right about his seeking attention and probably was just bored or angry that day and he may have decided "TO" try and make us all feel lousy about what we purchase. All the new NCLT is just "TOO" rich for his blood "TO" purchase. I decided to throw in grammar 101 for him right now by using caps on certain words. Maybe he will learn something at least from this forum. LOL LOL LOL

"Misery loves company" LOL LOL

I'm disappointed to see that the coin passed inspection (if any) with that visible crack on the rim. If you got it from the RCM, they will only refund you at the moment. I called to have mine exchanged but they did not have any in-stock, and a refund was the only option. I'm holding out that it will come back in-stock so that I can exchange it before my 30-day guarantee is up. Otherwise, I'll take the refund and buy it elsewhere.

@quasarito

I contacted the dealer (CDN Coin). I was told the quality of my coin is similar to the entire order of Whispering Maple Leaves coins they received. But I think my coin is worse due to the visible crack on the rim. I was also told they will receive a new shipment soon so a replacement might be possible. However, now I'm wondering if I should simply ask for a refund, since the quality of the entire batch is poor, which would cause the coins to lose value rapidly.

On the other hand, the gold plating misaligned by 2-3 millimetres (around the silver maple leaf) on most coins I have seen. I'm wondering if the significant misalignment makes it an error coin, thereby increasing its value...

If I were you, I'd return the coin, and buy it from a deal if you really want it. Gatewest still sells it.

This is not an error coin, just crappy quality control to ship a coin that doesn't meet standards, the plating is an important aspect of the design

Just received the Peace Tower Clock coin.

The coin is beautiful, without any imperfection.

What do you think?

@yesOrNo:
The coin is magnificent! The clock face is beautiful. So far, I've enjoyed the coin designs coming from this artist. The renders on the RCM webpage does it no justice at all. Thank you for the pics.

I'm not thankful that I now have to seriously consider whether I need to dish out more discretionary funds to get this coin. Frugal me says "no", but hedonistic me says "yes".

Congrats! I'm glad that you are happy with it!

Thank you for the pictures "in hand"!

Nice, cute, bravo...

In my opinion, the clock's hands and gears do not add to the coin as coin. But it takes the coin towards the 'unusual and special item' . The production work done good.

Thank you all!

@quasarito
If I were you, I'd give up the Whispering Maple Leaves coin for this one. Because I like the Peace Tower Clock coin much better.

Just realized the Whispering Maple Leaves and Peace Tower clock coins can no longer be found on mint.ca. It's like RCM never produced such coins.

They can both be found under My Shop/Highlights/Sold-out. Both are currently on the first page of the "Sold Out" listings.

I noticed that too last week. It shows up in the Sold Out page, but when you click on the link, the page for the coin comes up with no information.
