Well, that's just a semi-educated guess on my part. Hopefully, someone else will come along to give their thoughts.

I think it is just PMD. Can you post an image of the rim in that area please?

I'm with CoinCents. Post Mint Damage. The coin took a hit and a minor one at that.

Many thanks for the additional photos! I think it's safe to say this is not from an edge hit. Another possibility would be a small Rim Fin but, the interior edge doesn't look like metal folded over. It looks to have fairly even slopes on both sides and resembles a die crack with some minor breaks along its length.

That is an odd one. Your very good photos show that it's not a ding. Since its raised I'd be in the fin camp, but I still don't see where the ridge would have pulled from.

Looks like a tiny rim Cud from what I can see. Pretty good pics.

Always happy to help out when I can - I wouldn't even have thought of it being a rim Cud - As I mentioned in the beginning of the post I thought it was damaged (glad I was wrong).

For my (and others' educational purposes), I was under the impression that a Cud encroaches on the field? Or is a Cud just any 'extra' material coming from the rim?

If it were a rim Cud is would be very minor. Probably no premium for this.

I think that is probably the smallest rim Cud I have ever seen.
