Saw a total eclipse in 1974. A once in a lifetime experience. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a few hundred clipped blank coin errors that remind me of a TOTAL eclipse. I can't show you any pictures of them, because the whole of the blank is missing, not just a partial blank, like a partial eclipse.
They are a bit difficult to see in a 2x2; the 2x2 appears to be empty, not a sinister looking black disk, like the sun in a total eclipse.

At the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, they set up a sheet of peg board -- maybe six or eight feet -- so that there would be hundreds of eclipses to view on the ground. Sadly, it was cloudy.
This is one of my boys, he takes some amazing photos. He was well prepared for the eclipse and got some pretty cool pictures to share. https://www.facebook.com/neil.butcher.7
I have been trying to get him more interested in coin photography, but he spends most of his time gazing at the sky.
