ALL the details have not been work out at this time but we are trying to include as many folks as possible. It appears there will be gold in this set so we are working on a set of requirements to guarantee us the set WILL keep moving and it will be trackable at all times. We really want this to work! Also instead of the current member holding the set at any given time just picking a new member to send it on to we are thinking of a drawing each month to select the next lucky individual. For the most part a drawing is about as fair as you can get. When all the details are worked out we will get it on the road very quickly. First we must select the coins and get them sent to ND. Then they may come to me for another holder to prevent damage in shipment and to SEAL them in!!! Then off to see the world they will go! It will be a treat to hold this collection for a month and an honor to sign the card and fulfill my obligation to send them on! Hopefully this set will travel for years and years!!!

I can fully understand the position of security regarding the coins and case. Seeing as though only a few of the members KNOW each other, security is a MUST. Have you thought of the possibility of including a GeoCoin that is trackable...LOL...well, not a laughing matter. Since Geo Coins are trackable on the web, EVERYONE will be able to track the progress of the set. And maybe someone has one that is already activated that would not mind parting with it for a little while? (Just brain-storming here to help the community...that's what a good neighbor and friend does, isn't it?) Anyways, you didn't comment on our quarter. We have some very high grade, uncirculated ones that came from mint rolls, so they would be good specimens to view. Maybe there is someone out there that is thinking of switching the "dark side" but their dark side would be US coins instead. Bigfella is updating the list of coins, every few days, that we will be voting on next weekend. I am sure your quarter will be added to that list. You are correct about collectors from other countries being DARKSIDERS as they collect U.S. coins. There are U.S. collectors all over the world! I anticipate more coins going onto the list this week so we will have something to actually vote on next Sat. and Sun.! After that the coins will be shipped to ND and this program will FINALLY be on its way!

Hi EZSS
The coins which will be included will be voted on by the members next weekend, at this time no one really knows what will be in the set, unless there is only one coin from the continent being offered.
all offerings are appreciated !!
Thanks Rick

Sure would be nice to pick up at least one more donation for South America, Asia, Europe and Africa if possible this week? I want voting to be interesting with a variety of coins to choose from.
Okay I will start it off with a European coin offer to donate the cupro-nickel (sorry I won't part with the silver one) proof from Belarus issued in 2003 "Swans" and I believe it is a one rouble coin! The silver 20 rouble was a COTY (Coin of the Year) winner in its classification so you will get the same coin in cupro-nickel and a little smaller! Outstanding piece of art and as always "sorry can't post a photo at this time"!

Catman, Start with page one of this thread as Bigfella is just editing in the new coins donated. We will be voting this weekend for the six coins to put in the set so make sure and check in! After the coins are selected the donars will be notified where to send the coins. Hopefully by months end the set will begin its journey from member to member, without a hitch, and endure thousands and thousands of miles of travel along with our card which everyone will sign. Sending a token gift on to the next recipient has been suggested but that is up to each member when the time comes! Should be much more concerning this set in the upcoming days! REMEMBER just because you offer up a coin doesn't mean it is going anywhere as the CC members will vote on the coins they would like to see in this set this WEEKEND! Then, it is my understanding, there will be a drawing each month to determine where the coin set will be sent next! There is another thread for the Perpetual Set signup you must get on to join the group of CC members in the monthly drawing. This should be a blast when we get it all ironed out and everything in place. Keep watching for more news!!!

Last call for donations as the vote will have to be set up Friday for voting Sat. and Sun. Doesn't have to be a valuable coin just something from one of the world's continents for this traveling display! Whos doing the vote post? Bigfella or rggoodie? Please let me know!

Updated.
I will hopefully be setting up the vote tomorrow (Friday Afternoon Aussie time) so that everyone has all weekend to vote. Voting will cease Tuesday Afternoon (Aussie time). That should give everyone ample opportunity to vote.

6 polls are now active. Maybe one of the Mods could lock this topic so no more donations are given.
