Terry,my gold habit is a very serious one! I recently began purchasing gold coins from countries other than the U.S. It's a big expensive world out there but I love it. By the way RG, you mean I can't just order a larger coin, like a bigger shirt size for the same money? Oh how disapointing![:0] LOL. Shane, I would like to "step up" to the Quarter Ounce version of the Croc coin. Please P.M. me with the price info. Thanks!!! Bigger and Shiney= Better!!!!!!

Thanks for everything. Mike
I am glad the parcel arrived ok and you liked it. I did not come back early. The plan was to have Xmas and boxing day day at home (Boxing day cricket test is something I live for!!!) then go to Jervis Bay (150km South of Sydney) to see some beaches. I then travelled to Canberra to visit a friend and the mint. I was to arrive home yesterday as planned. I did some jobs around house today and will do a stocktake of my shop tomorrow. Wife has more jobs for me planned for Friday. Then a weekend playing cricket and enjoying myself. Back at work Monday and wait 12 months for my next holiday. The croc coin you are referring to comes in 1/25oz, 1/10oz and 1/2oz coins. It will be available end of January.

Mike I want you to know the Lincoln Cent is more than welcome but it will have to come out of the slab if selected by vote as the North American winner? ND is having Capital Plastics encase the winning coins in one case for shipment to CC members (one at a time) to enjoy for a few weeks before sending it on to the next member. Everyone holding the coins will sign a card and pass on to the next member and many of us will also include a little gift to send on to the next member as a way of remembering your(our) opportunity to hold the CC set for a few weeks. We are getting closer to ironing out all the details and after we vote on the coins to include in the set they will be mailed to ND for the honors. Will keep everyone posted and do hope we make arrangements to keep track of the miles this set will cover as it travels around the world! This is going to be fun!!!

Hey Bigfella, I just dug out the Peru 1885 UnSol and have found it is a much better coin than an XF. Has a high degree of luster and very few rubs so I think it would go AU considering its age. Just wanted to clear up any misunderstanding prior to the big vote that this is a really nice coin and it is silver dollar size or as us Darksiders would say, "a crown sized coin"!
Also the coin from the Congo 2002 is fifty centimes, not cents, and it has a Lion on one side and a giraffe on the other! That will at least force a vote!!! Do believe it is aluminum though?

Now lim118 you got to know when all those Australian coins (even just one) gets to me I will have to remove it and put in an Indiana $13 gold piece don't you? They are rare but I would do it for some of the Aussie's you are showing us!!!

Seeing as though we are still new to the community...what is all this about? Please, explain the give-away.

We are putting together what is being called a Perputal GiveAway Set or a traveling set of coins which each receiving CC member will keep in their possession up to one month and then send it along to another member. We intend to include a card for each member to sign and date before passing it on as well. Also, many members, wish to send on a token gift for the next recipient to keep after sending the set on to the next member. We will be voting on the five coins to be included, representing all 5 continents, next Sat. and Sun. At this time we are soliciting donations to this very unique traveling set of coins. It is our little way of promoting world wide coins in this great hobby of ours. There are about 3 different threads involved in this undertaking so I would suggest you go back to the beginning of this thread and enjoy the read!!! Hope this helps!
We will also be keeping track of mileage on the set as it travels the world!

You mean 6 of the 7 continents. (Not attempting to correct, just correcting for the sake of the next reader.) Ok. I can see how this would be exciting! I have an offer of a 2005 West Virginia Statehood Quarter...but not just any old dingy quarter. How would EVERYONE like to see one with some lamination errors? It's a way of saying, "Hey, our government makes a mistake, too!" (Eventhough Pres. Bush would disagree....LOL) It's our offer! Include us in the coin mailing too!!!! PLEASE!!!!!

ALL the details have not been work out at this time but we are trying to include as many folks as possible. It appears there will be gold in this set so we are working on a set of requirements to guarantee us the set WILL keep moving and it will be trackable at all times. We really want this to work! Also instead of the current member holding the set at any given time just picking a new member to send it on to we are thinking of a drawing each month to select the next lucky individual. For the most part a drawing is about as fair as you can get. When all the details are worked out we will get it on the road very quickly. First we must select the coins and get them sent to ND. Then they may come to me for another holder to prevent damage in shipment and to SEAL them in!!! Then off to see the world they will go! It will be a treat to hold this collection for a month and an honor to sign the card and fulfill my obligation to send them on! Hopefully this set will travel for years and years!!!
