I have a 1963-D FB Roosevelt dime that I purchased from ebay and it came slabbed with a MS-67 from Gallery Grading Company. Now I wrote to heritage coin and they said its not a grading service that is recognized, can you tell me more on this company, Thank You. Matt Paris |

Gallery Grading Company is a title used by an ebay seller to help increase attention/profits to their listings by misleading people into thinking their coin has been certified by a reputable grading company. There have been prior posts on this forum about Gallery Grading and other "very well unknown" other shisters. This is just my opinion and not to be taken as an absolute fact. Also a lot can be learned about online fraud by going to the ebay and online auctions section of this forum. After spending a lot of time on here listening to very knowledgeable collectors about online fraud, my online auction bidding has almost come to an abrupt halt until I can learn more. Please read this forum and learn. |

tnwalker10 is right! GGC, as well as a certain someone else that has a little group of folks that belong to a "club" of unprofessional and unrecognized graders by the name of SGS (Star Grading Services), are not the best people to deal with. If you do a little research, you see that about 9 out of 10 auctions for most of these sellers occur during the night time hours (for US residents). They prey on inexperienced and beginning collectors by throwing a coin in a slab, placing a simple card in it that was probably made with Microsoft's Word Perfect program (no offense intended to Microsoft or any of their programs!!!) and then sealed with a cheaply made gold sticker. Notice that most of their ads consist of fuzzy pictures with little to no details. I will say what so many on this forum have said: "You are not buying the holder, but the coin. The main idea when buying said coin is that you are looking for authenticity, value, and a deal...NOT SOMEONE'S POCKET CHANGE THAT THEY SAY IS MS70 when it is really AU50-." (At least, that's the best way to phrase it...  ) |

Its a designation used to determine a fully struck Roosevelt dime, kinda the same Idea as full steps , and FBL's on the franklins, and FSB's on the mercs. Rick |

Unless someone currently created it I don't believe that such a official designation exists. It sounds like someone who is hyping Roosevelt dimes. catman |

Yes. NGC check their census. And I agree alot of hype. As others have mentioned a designation of full strike or full detail for all series might be nice. Joe
