Thanks Pacificoin-
That makes sense.
Didn't know there were two different issues.

...and if you saw the prices in it, you'd also love it more..especially if you were a buyer and using it..

I have both a '75 Charlton and an '83 that I really have no use for.

I have a 1970 Charlton 18th edition, 1969 Red Book 22nd US, 1st edition 1959-1960 Canadian Numismatic Publishing Institute. Guide Book of Canadian Coins, Currency & Tokens from 1700-1958

These were my first books from my early collecting coins days. Also most of my Dansco and Whitman albums go to the late 50`s. Lot of old memories.

Here's the Charlton from my birth year; the '67, if I recall, looks the same.

chequer- That is one nice copy you have. Mine is VG at best. Thanks for posting the picture. You are right that it does look the same. The 67 has more printing underneath the box on yours. It says "Confederation Centennial", next line-"Edition". Then the 11 triangle centennial leaf for 1867-1967. My son just walked in. I might be posting picture's.

Here's a 1962 Charlton, this was my first coin book.
1948 dollar uncirculated for $70.00 or a 1935 french text $20 for a whopping $40.00. Very interesting to look back on what we thought at the time were outrageous prices.
Does anyone know when Charlton first started using a hardcover?

Cheers, Bill

So what is a reasonable price for a FIRST edition Charlton in as new condition?
