I love the surfaces on this coin, the contrast and originality are a huge plus in my book! Even wear and problem-free surfaces are also a win.
F15 is a very appropriate grade here, or, if you prefer, Choice Fine, because that is a good description. The reverse is a teeny bit less sharp than the obverse, but obverse carries the grade for me. I spent a good 5 minutes looking at it and can't find anything to detract from the grade.
I would personally rate its eye appeal around 9/10 (sorry, Mox!) Hard to get one in this grade any nicer or with fewer issues. I would have bought this in a moment and all day long as long as the price was in the zone.

I got it for $165, I payed a little too much imo, but this was the nicest Trade dollar I'd seen after about half a year of searching. With the nice circulation cameo, good eye appeal, and uncleaned as well, it was worth paying a bit more. |

ICG? Just noticed that at the top of your post. I agree she is original and pretty. I've been seeing more and more icg graded Seated dollars lately. Auction houses still don't trust their grades but it seems they are gaining market share. What did ICG grade her? |

Conservatively grading in my opinion. Chalk up a win for ICG. A month ago, a beautiful original 1849 Seated dollar graded ms-63+ by ICG went up for auction at great collections. It fetched 61 money. So they still have a long way to go on the credibility side. |

The auction houses that can actually grade trust the good coins in their holders which are a lot and yes they're gaining a lot of market share because they're quickly proving to be the best lower tier service. Far from a series or grade range I'm comfortable with, I would have thrown out an acg type grade guesstimate of VF-20.
I do agree with paralyse on the eye appeal of this coin, at least an 8/10 for me.
