Welcome. Keep in mind that people will drill or punch holes in coins for various reasons all the time. For example, to wear as a pendant. So temper your expectations accordingly.

Did not come from the mint that way. It was drilled or punched from the reverse out the obverse.

Post mint damage.

Somebody took a nail and drove it through the coin using a hammer.

(BTW - Lincoln was shot in the back of the head, not the side of the head.)

As others have posted, it's just a damaged coin. Sometimes holes were punched into coins to use them as key rings or bracelet charms.

No harm in asking. Keep hunting!
