Quote: I actually listed a couple things and edited others earlier tonight (not coins) and did not receive any popup, although that was on mobile, so maybe a difference there.
I have heard of OBO popping up randomly, but have never experienced it personally. Most of my BIN listings have OBO, anyway.
I'm more troubled by being forced into 30-day returns if I want to keep my seller status. Almost all of my listings expired today, so I went to relist all of them (over 200 total items), and make edits on about half of them. Everytime I did a new listing or a relisting with an edit, that pop-up came up! I haven't received any notifications on my "above standard" seller status changing, though I did get one really bizarre notification saying I was "at risk in the global program." Since I only sell within the U.S. and its territories, I found this rather amusing.

Quote: I haven't received any notifications on my "above standard" seller status changing It only applies to Top Rated status. Interestingly, I lost that status a little while back because of selling individual coins and shipping them in an envelope without tracking because that was the most reasonable for me. After I stopped selling single coins for the most part, I got the rating back. Magic! Quote: I was "at risk in the global program." Since I only sell within the U.S. and its territories, I found this rather amusing. The notification is there because you only ship to the U.S. Opening your listings to other countries may be beneficial depending on the shipping method. For the GSP, remember that only the cost of shipping to KY is involved on your end for both parties. The out-of-country buyer has additional costs on their end depending on location. I did not use the GSP for individual low-value coins I intended to mail in an envelope. I could have, though, and may have to test it out.

Not too long in the future, an ebay robot will come to your house, drag you out to sell your items door to door, and take their fees, and make you thank them.

Honestly, I have no interest in doing business with other countries. I used to do a tiny bit of business (about 2% of my total) with Canada, but I've heard lots of people complain about customs taking an inordinate amount of time to examine stuff the past couple of years (and it was never like that before). Too many problems can occur in shipping to other countries. I'd rather just play it safe and do what I can to protect my reputation on there.

You are seriously calling this a scam? Also, if you don't like the feature, just don't use it. It is amazing what some people will complain about...

I think in certain situations it can be a fantastic idea.

You are seriously calling this a scam? I most certainly am. And since you're here, do you have any ideas how to disable this feature so that the pop-ups don't come up every time you list a coin using your PC? It was more than kind of annoying to close over 200 pop-up windows yesterday.

Yes, it is annoying that it pops up every time you list something. But what's worse is that they are adding best offer options to existing listings and making me go and remove it from live listings! I didn't know that last part as I was only listing or re-listing stuff. Sheesh! It's even worse than I thought initially!

Have to admit, I have zero interest in buying/selling on ebay.

It wasn't this way when Meg was running things back in the day when I was selling CDs on the in the mid to late 2000s. I loved ebay back then. Now I hate it, but there's nothing better around yet, so am stuck with it (for now).

This is not a scam, nothing new in the auction field. I believe it is referred to as a "Dutch Auction," whereas the price is reduced by a certain amount or percentage until it is sold. Doesn't work to the sellers advantage on items that are of little interest (no bidding population) but it can generate interest where there is moderate interest. The item finds it's own selling price if it is originally listed too high. People have their own pricing thresholds and don't want a "deal' to get away. Don't use it if you feel like your getting ripped off for something that will only sell at a lower price (price market will bear).

Keep your listings at 10 or fewer days. I usually close out my 30 day listings at 28 days (I don't do last minute "snipers"), and then re-list them. ebay usually offers me 1 or 2 mass "free listings" a month so I use them to my best advantage.

So, as a follow-up on this, I did an analysis, and it has had a majorly NEGATIVE effect on my sales. Prior to them putting in this "Easy Pricing" thing, I was selling about $500 a month in items, with a couple of months pushing $700. Since then, despite me having just as many items up (and of similar price and quality), my sales have dropped by almost 2/3. Over the past 60 days, my sales are at $333.94. My guess is that people I'm in competition with have gone ahead and agreed to use the "Easy Pricing" function, and end up selling the items at very low prices (much below even bullion value in some cases)... leaving me out in the cold. As I've mentioned to others, things such as the Coin World Market ( https://www.coinworld.market) are becoming much more attractive options to us long-time eBayers. First of next month (once baseball's regular season is over) I'll have more time to explore other selling option.
