Yes, there are a few others, but none as heavily involved as Doug.

Thanks Wade...

So your review is encouraging. However, I would have liked to know why you gave it a B+ for «Quality of print/paper/binding» and «Layout», just to see if I could improve things.

Because I am currently working on a possible second edition that would be more extensive. But it's still hypothetical for now.

Other clarification, normally the cover page is not like the one you received. But there was a problem at the printer's. So I had to improvise...

And finally, I put an online version of the checklist (PDF) in case you or someone else would like to print a copy. Unfortunately, I don't know I can post a link on the forum at the moment. But I'm doing the test anyway.

And once again, sorry about my far from perfect English.

the cover page is the only thing that was an issue (very minor detail and you explained it)

everything could've gotten an A, but then the photos would've had to get an A++++++++++++++++++++++++

the pictures are a real standout.

I don't think you need to change anything

@Wade:

I agree with you about the photos (That's one of the flaws in Courteau's work). Although, the revision you have contains about 3 to 4 times more photos than the first 10 copies I sold in the first months, because some had remarked to me that there were still several varieties that were not obvious to understand without photos. Not to mention that the number of words have also increased by about 50%.

But then there is also the limitation of the number of pages and costs. I wanted to keep the price relatively affordable, while having a book under 500g to allow shipping by Canada Post via standard service and not parcels.

Anyway, that's another subject, but thank you again...

At the same time, I take this opportunity to make a small public interest update

I only seek out MS grades but I can see this fooling a lot of people.

Thank you for the bulletin (might want to make a separate post)

Hopefully you will include this in your next addition?

@BCTokens: If you have a Paypal account, yes.

Unfortunately, I don't want to write down my email on the forum. However, you can contact me privately via the French Forum of NumiCanada (http://numicanada.com/forum/index.php).

My username is «ainsivalavie» (http://numicanada.com/forum/memberl...file&u=13377).

Sorry about the complications.

Regretfully, I don't have a Paypal account, so will have to postpone a purchase.

@BCTokens:

That is unfortunate. I would have liked to find a merchant to offer my book for sale at the meetings and in stores, but given the limited number of printed copies and the costs involved versus the relatively low selling price of the book, I cannot afford to do like Charlton and sell them wholesale at 50% of the retail price.

But if things were to change in the event of an agreement with one or more merchants, I will share it on the forum.

ANYone with online banking can e_transfer and it only costs the sender $.50 - $1 (a sweet deal compared to CC interest and paypal fees)

Indeed, it is another possibility, I had not thought of it. I don't know if this suits you BCTokens?

Thank you Wade.

At the same time, just point out that the online version of the checklist (PDF) was updated, since there had been a problem with the Courteau's rarity indices when converting to this format. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I commend Ainsivalavie for his works. I can appreciate and know from experience the time and effort entailed to do this task.

One observation, Fifteen years ago Ingram and Marelic published several great works on some of Courteau's studies. They and others used
the term 'suction marks' to identify stray lines. In my experience, closer examination will identify most of these lines as actual 'Clash Marks.'

Lines behind the man's back mimic the shaft of the Anchor. May times the Dots below the ground are clash marks of the Anchor Rope Dots.
Many time clash marks of the Anchor Flukes are seen about the Dragon. Clash marks mimicking the Back and Rump of the Horse often appear.

etc

Thank you Colonialtokens

I totally agree with you, which is why when I published the second edition of my book in 2019, I specified this point for each of the varieties concerned. Moreover, this second edition has little to do with the first one described here.
