with Crazyb0. You can get a P and D mint set for the same or less than a lot of the '70-D Kennedys by themselves.
Whoever broke those single Kennedys out still has the other coins in the sets, so you might as well do the same.
If you're really interested in having an intact mint set, buy 2.

All good advice. At the end of the day, do what feels right for you... BUT... upgrade that folder to an album!

I would cut it out of the mint set and move on.

I would cut it out .....

But ......

I would put it in a album instead of a folder.

I had this same quandary with the 96-W dime. Went to a coin show and the cheapest I found was $15. Went to another booth and bought the set for $9. I'll just stick the other coins in albums.

Personally, I don't think the OP should upgrade to an album. He should upgrade to coin capsules!

I will never put another uncirculated coin into a folder again. After some years the REV side will lose its luster. I had this happen to too many coins in albums that were stored in what I thought to be an airtight way. In fact I am a little leery of any storage that will bring the coin into contact with cardboard since cardboard can retain water from ambient humidity.

Finding a 70D Kennedy in circulation was always my dream - since 1970 . Congratulations to your son!
