OUTSTANDING! Your efforts and commitment are evident.  Your timing is perfect for several of us currently working (focused) on these set. Love comparing notes, photos and the process to see where we stand in the big scheme of things. You are obviously organized and articulate. Can I ask you a couple of personal questions? From when you first started (committed yourself to completing this set), how long did it take you? Taking all 76 holes into consideration, from the low end face value coins (1 cent/5 cent, clads) to your higher end coins; what average cost per hole would you put on your set? (if you don't mind me asking?) Again, congratulations! |

I'd appreciate any info you would provide about your copy stand. I've yet to find one that I like and am still using my cheap tripod. I got it from Amazon. It's very sturdy and works good for me. I started collecting US coins when I was a kid in early 80's. Then girls, cars, friends, parties, work, wife, & kids took over my life. I found CCF little more than a year ago and decided to get back in to the hobby and start the album. I already had couple thousands of US coins, of which I filled 70% of the holes. Next 16 months, the rest were filled. Seated dollars were toughest. Quote:

Congrats CoconutJoe! It's a great feeling to complete that set and yours is a nice one. Your path to a 7070 was similar to mine. I started collecting as a kid and thought it would be neat to get one of each type of coin. When I started to get back into coin collecting, I discovered someone else thought that would be a neat idea too and created an album around it. It's a fun album to fill since each coin is different.

@USSID18, I already see about 5 coins that need to be upgraded. I got a feeling that 7070 album will be lifetime of upgrades  |

KenKat, your 7070 album was one of the 3 completed sets that I download the photos for my inspiration It was very helpful to see what others have on their albums so that I can decide on my guidelines and goals. Some of the US type coins were overlooked by me before, such as half-cent, Two Cent, Half Dime, and 20 cent, but looking at others definitely helped me familiarize with these coins.  |

I think many of us do the same thing, look at our completed set and think, " I can get a better one of that coin" I do that from time to time, then start searching for upgrade's. Then when I get better coins, it makes some of the others look not so good  I have not posted before, but I think you did a very good job on your completing the 7070. |
