Quote: Just trying to figure out why it's getting a 50th Anniversary pedigree. I see no reason for it and am just wondering what I'm missing here? Probably something to do with 2014 would be my guess.

Yeah, I understand the 50th Anniversary pedigree for the 2014 coins, but this is a bicentennial coin. I don't see why a 1975/6 coin is getting that pedigree, so figured I must have missed something about it.

Sent in as a set type thing or graded on the 50th anniversary because of the special label type thing. There's a couple different explanations if there's a lot of them out there. If it's just that one it could be a registry pedigree

It's just an artificially created gotta-have-it gimmick. Disgraceful money-grub on both sides.

1976 was the 50th Ann of the special Olympics and Pontiac Autos, other than that I couldn't find anything on JFK and that year. Anniversary of his 9th Birthday?

It's just a special thing they do, to get more money for the coins. Also has fingerprints on the obverse side.

Very cool slab! The answer is rather obvious. Since the label clearly reads "50th Anniversary," there are only two possible explanations: 1. JFK was actually NOT born in 1917, but in 1926. There has been a massive conspiracy (rewriting of all historic sources) to cover up this fact and we have all been misinformed. Of course a TPG would not fall for the lie and labeled the slab properly. or 2. This slab is from an alternate reality where JFK actually was born in 1926, so again, the TPG labeled it correctly as being a 50th Anniversary of this birth. What else could it possibly be?

It's still pretty cool though, I'll definitely give you that! It's pretty fancy for a slab.

Maybe it was graded in 2014, and slapped with the 50th label because of that timing.

They did the same thing for Ikes. They are 40th anniversary labels.

In 2014 the mint did the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy half. Apparently you could get other years with the same label. Oh joy!

Quote: Apparently you could get other years with the same label. Like I indicated before, back in 2011 you could get 40th Anniversary labels for the Ikes. Makes sense they would jump on the 50th for Kennedy. No, it does not appeal to me. Not only would I not pay extra for it, I would probably pay less since the information label is on the wrong side.
