I put 12 OBW BU 2018 P Lincoln Shield Cents away for the future year 2038. I put them in a acrylic box container and I also covered them with cardboard and paper on the ends, so the end coins will not tone. I will take pictures later, to show you what I did.
Here's what I did. I didn't have any Nickel tubes available on hand, so I did this instead. Feel free to give any suggestions, if there's need to be any.
Suggestion: Paper and cardboard can hold humidity and over time affect the coins. Your addition of paper products to the ends have introduced a way for water vapor to absorbed and possibly concentrated in those areas.
My personal preference is to get some inexpensive coin tubes and put the coins in there. If I want to keep the coins in paper rolls, I put the rolls into some sort of a container that is airtight and use a silica gel pack to be in with the coins.
I also store some coins/rolls vacuum sealed which can be accomplished in a number of ways. One is with a food system for vacuum sealing, and the cheap way (I resemble that remark) is by using a straw and zip lock backs. Insert coin rolls, seal bag most of the way so its just open around the straw (or aquarium air hose) itself, insert straw into bag as far as it will go, pull out air while also pulling out straw, seal as the straw exits. I have checked coins I sealed this way over a period of 5 years and the vacuum was still in the bag.

BTW - anyone wanting silica packs (pellets) for free, go to a local furniture store and ask them if they would be willing to throw the packages they get in the boxes they receive with furniture that needs assembling. My son worked at a furniture store and after two months I had a Walt-Mart bag overflowing with the packets. It keeps the packs out of the landfill, which is a waste anyway as the packs are able to be rejuvenated with heat, the store saves a little bit if they pay for waste removal by volume, and you get a dry environment for your coins. Win win win
