Oh! didn't see you correct yourself on the 1922 penny.
Keep us posted on the 1959 penny!

The 1942 nickel may not be silver since the metalic content was changed midway through production of that year. You can by the location of the mintmark. (silver-above monticello on reverse) A good find worth between 10-90 cents depending on metal content. -PP

Pennypusher. I corrected my original post too. The 59 is actually a 56. Sorry for the mix up.

The nickel does have a P above the building on the back of the coin. Is that one a silver one?

If you are using the quick reply box at the bottom of the page type [ q u o t e ][ / q u o t e ] without the spaces and insert your quote between the two center brackets.

If using the "reply to topic" link at the top of the page. Click on the icon that looks like a page of paper and a red arrow pointing to the right.
Rest in Peace

kdkenn, the mintmark above the building does mean your 1942 nickel is a silver wartime nickel. It's a keeper.

I also found a $20 bill serial number 00040579 is it worth keeping?/

I do not collect that many notes but if I found one with this low of a number it may be something to consider keeping. The big question is "Is this within my budget?" If not, then let it go, is it is then pick it up. You may actually want to post on this forum as a trade for some of the coins you are looking for. If nobody wants it, take it back to work and get some more coin rolls.
