to CCF. A copper cent should weigh 3.1 grams +/- .13 grams. Being that heavy, 3.30 grams makes me think it is heavily plated. Why it doesn't stick to a strong magnet is puzzling me. Wait for the pros to chime in.

Nope. I don't think so.
A few weird issues with that coin.
Definitely not a U.S. mint product IMHO.
Given past discussions on this forum, might as well not put them out in the open though.

I have a Chinese 1943 Copper counterfeit one cent coin. It is non magnetic, HOWEVER it does weigh spot on at 3.11g.
Please post a close up, if it is counterfeit, the details should appear rather grainy/sandy looking as the coins are cast not struck.

After enlarging your photo, it appears to have many of the same markers my coin has. Yet it does have some very authentic appearing areas.
Because of the weight I have to say Counterfeit.
Where did you find it. OIf in circulation, where has it been for 76 years ?

Dan

Genuine 1943 copper cents are EXTREMELY rare.

How did you get this one?

There's a weakness in the strike that concerns me like it maybe fake. The color looks off as well. That is my concern. The strike should be stronger.
