I selected the Indian Head. But would have chosen the Sacagawea not listed.

Wow, that is a pretty pathetic fowl. I've never seen one of those. I guess there really isn't a lot of real estate to work with on that denomination though.

I couldn't really make up my mind between the Weinman Half Dollar, or the St Gauden's Double Eagle.
The results so far seen to bear this out. One of those two designs will win.
Perhaps not too surprising.
A huge effort was invested in both designs before they were approved for large scale production over many years.
Both designers were artists and sculptors of well established international standing.
It is not possible for a Mint to spend as much investment in time on a modern commemorative, to make sure the final design is going to be right.

 sel, I think that was far and away the best period for American coinage. From 1907-1921 every new coin issued except the LWC was designed by an internationally renowned sculptor: all four gold denominations, the buffalo, merc, SLC,Walker, and Peace dollar. I think I remember that a renowned artist designed the Lincoln, but I could be wrong. Now all have been replaced with dead presidents and historical figures. For a really long time. The modern commemoratives and quarters show a level of precision, detail and production quality I never thought possible or feasible. But no one will confuse them with works of art. |

It looks like you share the same preference for American Neo classic design themes as I do.  They scream of past times when the good old U.S. of A. was at it's greatest, relative to all other nations. Others prefer more modern designs; that's OK. By it's very nature, art is progressive. |

Good poll! It would be great to do a similar poll covering the eagles on the classic commemorative half-dollars - there were some great examples in that series!
