Yes, there's some visable weakness on "CENT" of "ONE CENT". It's a genuine Cud, not fake or PSD. Errers and Varietys.

I am with E&V on this one.I spotted the NT but missed the FG.
There is a tiny bit on the lower right of the memorial.

The die that was used to strike this coin remained in service after it broke. The first break in THE Cud BOOK is listed as LC80-9A "Stage A". On stage A the metal in the area where "TRUST" in the motto has broken and separated from the die leaving a void. As the brake became larger more coins were struck and as these coins were found they were listed as stages B-E. On the last stage, your coin "Stage E", the void has expanded to more of the motto "WE TRUST" and to the K-3 area. If you are an ANA member you can borrow "THE Cud BOOK by Sam Thurman and Arnold Margolis" from the Dwight N. Manley Library and view the images of the 5 stages on pages 92 & 93. Located at the ANA's Colorado Springs headquarters, the staff lends materials to members all over the world - for just the cost of postage and insurance. |

It would only be helpful if I had images of all five stages. Just one image would be a like one piece of a jigsaw puzzle.

..AWESOME FIND. If your sister didn't want the jug back,when would you have checked those coins? I thought the little gold coins were the prize..this one equals them..
